South Gulf Fire and Rescue uses a beach flag system approved by Florida Statute. We post the flag levels for the south facing beaches (the Stumphole, or the rocks, and eastward) and the west facing beaches (north of the stumphole) on our website and facebook page. We try to update the pages by noon each day, getting our information from the National Weather Service and local observations. Physical flags are located at both the Fire Stations. Station 1 will always post the most conservative flag of the two because it is passed by more people.
